Kilbol Country House Hotel and Cottages

Kilbol Country House is a small cottage style country hotel set in the tranquil seclusion of its own five acre grounds deep in the beautiful countryside of the Polmassick valley near Mevagissey, Cornwall. Our closest neighbour being Polmassick vineyard and the nearby dear farm. Bounded southward by the river Luney, it is a wonderful place to see the varied flora and fauna of Cornwall. It is within two miles of the Lost Gardens of Heligan and close to the Eden Project and the fishing village of Mevagissey; other major Cornish Gardens are just a short trip away.

Once part of the great Mount Edgecumbe estate; Kilbol became a hotel in the 1960's. Aquired by it's present owners in 1992, it has undergone extensive refurbishment and upgrading whilst retaining the charm of its 16th century origin.

Originally a small farm belonging to the Mount Edgcumbe estate and dating back to the 16th Century.

Now the hotel is fully refurbished and in part rebuilt so as to offer eight rooms and one suite of rooms in the Hotel as well as two self-catering cottages.

The Kilbol is set in five acres of valley countryside, just two miles from the coast at Mevagissey and even closer to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The Cathedral City of Truro is approximately 12 miles by car.

The Hotel is in the small hamlet of Polmassick which though only a smattering of cottages boasts a vineyard, a deer farm and of course Kilbol Country House Hotel. Peace and tranquillity abound – hence our logo Perfect Peace in Hidden Cornwall.

Within the gardens of the Hotel there is an outdoor swimming pool and a croquet lawn, as well as a riverside walk and a relatively newly planted 600 tree wooded area.

Kilbol has two cottages, one 16th century, rebuilt in 1996, and the other purpose built in 1997. Both cottages combine modern day facilities while still retaining the sympathy for the surrounding area.

The facilities include a fully fitted kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. Remote control colour TV and stereo system. Direct dial telephones in each bedroom. Both cottages are fully heated and available for out of season letting. Kilbol cottage also has a wood burning stove.
