The Pirates of St. Piran had hoped to put on a pirate festival again this year at the end of May but unfortunately due to the ongoing problems with the use of the jetty for public performances, we will be unable to do so. There are no other areas large enough for us to stage our performances in the harbour area as we require a large flat area roped off from the public to satisfy our insurance requirements.

I know that the harbour trust are doing their best to resolve this issue and we hope that they can reach a satisfactory conclusion, so that we can organise other events on the jetty in the future.

We will however,be taking part in the festival of working sailing ships in June and we will be doing our usual shanty singing round the village pubs throughout the summer. We will also be discussing the possibility of a pirate festival later in the year, providing the Jetty is available at that time.
