Welcome to our cosy waterside inn nestled on the edge of the picturesque Portmellon Cove with striking views and providing a safe beach for all the family to have fun. We are perfectly situated to visit a host of attractions that Cornwall has to offer.

We will endeavour to make sure that you enjoy your visit, be it just for a refreshing lunchtime drink and snack, a full a la carte meal, or a longer, more leisurely stay in one of our delightfully comfortable rooms.

The Accommodation and Tariff
Seven delightful en-suite bedrooms comfortably furnished with colour TV, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer and a fridge.
The most popular two rooms have superb views over the cove; one family suite comprises a master bedroom with a double bed and a single bed, along with another single bedroom – all sharing the bathroom facilities. The other room has just a master bedroom, with again a double and a further single bed in the same large room. Both rooms overlook the cove, which is only 5 metres away!
One further double bedroom with side views can sleep three in the same manner. The remaining 4 double bedrooms are equally well furnished. All rooms have electric heating for those chilly nights in March & October. Tariff - from £35 per person per night, children £25.

The Pub - A REAL PUB - for those who search for one with a passion!
A beamed bar area with a snug to one side. Delightful views of the cove through the small sash windows and seating for forty-five this is in addition to our  superb restaurant, which overlooks the cove and sea, seats in excess of 50, with an outside terrace for the warmer days.
The bar serves an outstanding range of carefully chosen independent real ales and bottled beers from around Cornwall, including such beers as Spingo from Blue Anchor Brewery at Helston, Mutiny and Buccaneer from Wooden Hand Brewery at Truro, and Black Seadog Mild and an occasional guest ale. Also the popular Addlestones cloudy cider, keg Guinness and different lagers including Irish Harp.

We also offer  -  70 Bourbon whiskeys, 40 Irish Whiskeys, and over 300 Rums from around the world !

Superb selection of traditional and New World wines available by the glass, bottle, or case, which should suit every occasion! Like the beach at Portmellon, we are dog-friendly so dogs on a leash are welcome in the bar area (fresh drinking water is available at the front door).

Please note that although we welcome accompanied children of all ages during the day, we insist that only children of 13 years and over enter the inn after 1800 hours and then only to eat dinner in either the snug area, or in the restaurant. There are numerous nearby establishments that will cater for families with younger children and most serve evening meals earlier than our restaurant, which opens from 1830 to 2130 hours daily. The inn has friendly and well-trained staff that will ensure that your visit is a memorable one and hopefully persuade you to follow many others, by returning to see us again, when you visit Cornwall.

All this is mixed with a convivial sociable atmosphere to provide a quality and good value place to rest, recuperate and enjoy.

Restaurant
We Cook From Fresh So You Eat The Best’. Our kitchen is fitted with some of the latest equipment in food technology which results in a much healthier product with no additional added fat, thereby adding to the flavour and not your waistline.

Our produce is delivered from local suppliers whenever possible, in order to support our local community. Our seasonal lunch menu serves fresh beer battered fish from Mevagissey boats, hand picked crab and a range of good wholesome food.

Lunchtime food is not the typical microwaved frozen food so often served in some establishments, but with an emphasis on freshly cooked local produce. Our seasonal menu includes such scrumptious meals as seafood chowder, mussels in white wine, beer-battered fresh locally landed fish, freshly made foccacia sandwiches to order like Mevagissey hand-picked crab.

In the evenings our renowned restaurant serves freshly cooked local seafood such as crispy skinned sea bass steak and monkfish tails. We compliment our menu with farm reared Cornish beefsteaks and 3 vegetarian alternatives. A variety of starters, offer of unlimited vegetables and a selection of desserts, ensure that even the most famished of diners leave satisfied! Fresh filter coffee available with an excellent selection of liqueurs, malt whiskies, brandy and port wine to finish with. All this provided by a fast, polite and attentive service.
